The Life-Serving Value of Innovation, with James Altucher and Jason Feifer

by | Jun 1, 2020 | Technology & Innovation

Have you noticed how resistant people often are to new technologies and ideas? Do you hear constant scare stories about “adverse impacts” of new innovations such as GMOs, fracking, and 5G internet?

In this new episode of The James Altucher ShowEntrepreneur Magazine chief editor Jason Feifer shows that unfounded pessimism toward new technologies is nothing new. He recounts a litany of historical examples, from elevators to mobile phones, showing various ways in which people have spread irrational, baseless claims about the dangers of innovations—innovations that would prove to be massively beneficial to people’s lives.

Feifer shows from multiple perspectives that innovation is advantageous to human life. Although he doesn’t explicitly make the point that technological advancement and industrial progress are morally good, his many examples show the practical aspect of this moral truth.

I’d love to see Alex Epstein join James Altucher for a discussion focused on the moral side of the equation. That would round things out beautifully. If you’d like to see that too, let Altucher know.

In any event, check out this episode with Jason Feifer. Great stuff!
